Dylan Page's Raw Footage of Kenyan Police Brutality Goes Viral
Globally renowned TikTok content creator Dylan Page has ignited a powerful online conversation and applause after releasing a video exposing the viral police brutality and shooting of an unarmed street vendor in Nairobi, Kenya.
With over 15 million followers, Dylan’s platform has become a lightning rod for justice — and this time, he’s using it to shine a spotlight on an incident that has rattled a nation.
He recently toured Kenya and documented disturbing cases of police misconduct and brutality on the ongoing Kenyan protests. In his video, Dylan stands quietly on Moi Avenue, at the very site where Boniface Kariuki, a hawker selling face masks, was shot in the head by police at close range.
The shooting happened during public protests over the death of blogger Albert Ojwang, who allegedly died in police custody.
Dylan delayed releasing the video until he had left the country, citing safety concerns and the political weight of addressing such a sensitive issue from within.
Fearing possible retaliation or restrictions, the TikToker said he made the calculated decision to publish the video only after he returned to his home country.
“I wanted to post this only when I got home because not only is this a risky subject to speak about, but also to bring awareness to this matter on a global scale like this is something I don’t imagine is going to be appreciated by certain people,” he explained.
The footage is raw, honest, and grounded in reality — free of filters or distractions. And it struck a nerve. Not only that, he also gave a full narrative of the events that led to the current situation, citing also on Albertb Ojwangs murder. Thousands of Kenyans flooded the comment section, thanking him for using his platform to speak when others stayed silent.
