Ciru Muriuki's Emotional 40th Birthday Tribute to Late Fiancé Charles Ouda

Kenyan media personality Ciru Muriuki has shared a deeply emotional Instagram tribute on what would have been her fiancé Charles Ouda’s 40th birthday, underscoring the profound depth of their connection and the enduring ache of his absence.

Theirs was a "fiery romance that mesmerised Kenyans," marked by a shared passion for storytelling and creativity.

In a brief but powerful post, Ciru poured out her heart: “With every beat of my heart. Because I can’t do life with you, I do it for you. Happy 40th in heaven, my immortal. Thank you for spending the rest of your life with me.”

Charles Joseph Onyango Ouda tragically passed away in February 2024 at the age of 38, just five months after their engagement.

His death left Ciru heartbroken, describing it as the "most devastating experience of her life." Their engagement in 2023, coupled with the launch of "The Undiscovered Podcast," was a "celebration of love, partnership, and creativity" that was tragically cut short.

Ciru's poignant tribute on what would have been his 40th birthday reveals the immense pain and void left by his absence.

She expressed missing his voice, laughter, and the affectionate nicknames he created for her, conveying the harsh reality of a "life sentence without parole."

Adding to the emotional weight, Ciru also marked the first anniversary of Charles Ouda’s passing in February 2025 with another poignant tribute, sharing the raw depth of her grief.

In a deeply personal social media post for the anniversary, Ciru expressed the immense pain of losing her fiancé: "A year ago today, I learned what pain was. True, devastating, earth-shattering pain. And in the minutes, hours, days since, your absence has taught me yet another lesson; that you were truly the love of my life. I hate living without you. I hate not being able to see you."

She went on to detail the little things she missed—his voice, laughter, and the nicknames he would come up with for her, emphasising how their creative bond and shared passion for storytelling made his absence even harder to bear. "I hate never hearing your voice, your laugh, whatever new nickname you conjured up for me. I hate not creating with you. I hate falling asleep without you. I hate waking up without you."

Ciru ended her anniversary tribute by acknowledging the harsh reality of life without him: "I hate that this is my reality now, this life sentence without parole. I hate that a year ago, the world lost one of its brightest stars. I love you, my king. Always. Always."
